Food Access

Ensuring our community has access to healthy, reliable food resources is at the heart of our mission.

Resiliency Card Program

The Resiliency Card is a prepaid card that can be used like a gift card at participating local markets and food retailers. It is designed to increase purchasing power for community members who need greater access to fresh fruits and vegetables.

At the same time, the program keeps food dollars circulating in local neighborhoods by strengthening small businesses, urban growers, and community-based food systems.

How It Works

One Card. Rippling Impact.

The Resiliency Card Program is implemented in partnership with community-based organizations. Partner organizations distribute Resiliency Cards directly to program participants, ensuring resources are delivered efficiently and equitably to individuals and families experiencing food access barriers.

Additional Food Access Resources

Vivery is a digital platform that connects communities to local food access resources. It helps individuals find, understand, and navigate programs that support food security, economic stability, and overall well-being by bringing trusted information into one easy-to-use place.

The Greater Chicago Food Depository is one of the city’s largest hunger-relief organizations, working with a network of food pantries, shelters, and community partners to provide nutritious food to individuals and families across Cook County while addressing the root causes of hunger.
